What's
this all about?
There comes a time in every activist group's development when they realise there
is something missing in their set up. We have been striving to cause trouble,
save the world and wind up the powers that be for 8 years now. However we still
don't own a tank! Please help us right this wrong!
Why do we need a tank?
Every two years the ExCeL exhibition centre in East London plays host to DSEi,
The world's largest arms fair. Representatives from all of the major arms manufacturers
pimp their wares to rogue states, impoverished nations and invading armies with
the £400,000 of support from the UK government and up to £4 million
in policing. In fact the police firearms squad tried to raid the fair in 2003
as several dealers were illegally trading, only to be turned back by orders
from “ministerial level”.
The Space Hijackers have attempted to cause plenty of disruption at the last
two fairs in 2003 and 2005. We have attempted to sell
prosthetic limbs (arms) to the dealers on their way into the fair, and,
worried about their “weapons
capabilities”, we have handed out sex toys and left them red faced.
This year we have decided to take things up a notch or ten. This year, we are
going to turn up in a tank. A big, heavy, armoured, noisy tank which we intend
to drive into the arms fair. We have been fundraising for several months, and
by September 11th we will roll up to the arms fair in something the police are
going to find it a lot harder to shove us around in.
We want the arms dealers to know what it feels like to be on the non-profitable
side of a tank. Tanks are not nice things, they kill people
Reasons we will take our foot off the accelerator:
If a police officer puts a flower in the barrel of our cannon;
If the police stage a sit down protest infront of our tank;
If the police lock on to their vehicles and blockade the road;
If the police climb up a scaffolding tripod reclaim the streets style;
If a police officer d-locks themselves to our tank;
We intend to disrupt the arms fair as much as possible. Our tank is going to
